Marchi Mini Grant Program – Honoring a Legacy, Inspiring Innovation

Established in 2013, the Marchi Mini Grant program celebrates the life and legacy of Lisa Marchi—a beloved Mapleton educator who poured her heart into supporting both students and teachers. This grant continues her spirit of possibility by fueling classroom dreams that spark curiosity, deepen learning, and open doors for every student.

Through the Marchi Mini Grant, Mapleton educators can bring bold, student-centered ideas to life—projects that go beyond the textbook, connect to real-world learning, and meet the needs of individual learners. Whether it’s a hands-on STEM experiment, a creative arts project, or a unique field experience, this program provides the resources to make it happen.

How it works:

  • Step 1: Post your project through the Donors Choose Projects process for innovative, standards-based, student-focused activities.

  • Step 2: If your project isn’t compatible with Donors Choose, submit an online application to the Mapleton Education Foundation by September 26, 2025.

  • Step 3: All eligible projects are reviewed by the Teaching and Learning Department using the Marchi Mini Grant rubric.

  • Step 4: The Mapleton Education Foundation Board of Directors selects and announces grant recipients by the end of October.

Funding:

  • Up to $1,500 for an individual educator

  • Up to $3,000 for a team application

With your creativity and this funding, students can explore, innovate, and dream in ways that change how they see learning—and themselves.
