Description:
Honoring the music that stays with us.
This scholarship is a tribute to the power of music—and to the educators who awaken it in their students.
Established by a former Mapleton student whose love of music began in the district’s instrumental music program, this award reflects a lifelong connection to an artform that became more than just a class—it became a passion. Though he moved on after eighth grade and pursued a career outside of music, he has never stopped playing. More than fifty years later, music remains a steady presence in his life.
The Mapleton Music Educators’ Scholarship honors the teachers who made that possible—and the students who carry that same spark today.
Awarded to a graduating senior from Mapleton Public Schools, this scholarship supports those who have been shaped by music and plan to continue their journey—whether as a career, a study, or a source of lifelong joy. Funds may be used for tuition, instruments, books, or other related expenses as students pursue college, university, or apprenticeship pathways.
This is more than a scholarship. It’s a heartfelt thank-you to the music program—and the mentors—who gave one student a lifelong gift.
