Improving Access to Post-Secondary Education
Every dream needs a doorway.
For Mapleton graduates, that next step—college, career training, or something still unfolding—should feel possible. But for many, the cost of post-secondary education stands in the way.
That’s where we step in.
Each year, the Foundation awards two- and four-year scholarships to approximately thirty students, supporting access to vocational programs, two-year colleges, and four-year universities. In 2024 alone, our scholarships totaled more than $221,000—investments in ambition, in confidence, and in the belief that our students are ready to lead.
Because when financial barriers fall, futures rise.
Encouraging Creativity & Innovation in the Classroom
Big ideas deserve big belief.
Mapleton teachers dream up some of the most creative, engaging ways to help students learn—and we’re here to back them.
The Marchi Mini Grant program provides funding to bring bold, standards-based, hands-on learning to life in classrooms across the district. Whether it’s a one-of-a-kind science experiment, a classroom transformation, or a project that connects students to the world around them—we help turn great ideas into powerful experiences.
Grants are awarded up to $1,500 for individuals and up to $3,000 for teams, with many teachers combining these funds with DonorsChoose to stretch their impact even further.
Because when teachers feel trusted, students feel it too.
Helping Students Participate in District Activities & Programs
When a student earns a spot, we help them take it.
Some opportunities come once in a lifetime—a national competition, a leadership summit, a selective academic program. These are moments that spark confidence, broaden perspective, and leave lasting impact.
The Student Opportunity Fund ensures that Mapleton students can say yes to those moments.
Created to support individuals accepted into competitive, non-district-sponsored academic programs, the fund helps cover costs like travel, registration, and materials—so achievement is celebrated, not sidelined.
It’s about turning hard-earned invitations into unforgettable experiences.
Wolverine Welcome Back
A fresh start, zipped and ready.
Each fall, the Mapleton Education Foundation partners with local businesses and community supporters to provide more than 700 backpacks filled with school supplies to students across the district.
Distributed directly to schools, these backpacks reach the students who need them most—quietly, respectfully, and right on time—ensuring every learner begins the year with the tools they need to succeed.
What began as a single event has grown into a coordinated, districtwide effort powered by generosity and driven by a shared belief in the power of showing up prepared.
Mapleton Holiday Shop
Where generosity meets joy.
Since 2021, the Mapleton Holiday Shop has brought warmth, care, and celebration to families across the district. In partnership with Mapleton’s Integrated Services team, we create a welcoming, festive space where families can hand-pick holiday gifts for their children—no cost, no pressure, just kindness.
With the support of Mapleton staff and generous partners like A Precious Child, more than 450 gifts are made available each year for children of all ages. Families also receive winter essentials and personal care items, while children enjoy holiday crafts and joyful moments that make the season bright.
It’s a space filled with laughter, relief, and quiet magic—where giving feels personal, and everyone walks away with something more than they expected.
Supporting District Priority Programs
This year’s gala doesn’t just raise funds—it raises horizons.
Each year, the Mapleton Education Foundation rallies support for one powerful, districtwide initiative that reaches students across every school. From literacy and science to outdoor adventures, music, Strider bikes, and GaGa pits—we’ve helped bring bold, joyful learning to life in every corner of the district.
This year, we’re doing it again.
Funds raised through the 2025 Gala will support educational experiences and field trips that take learning beyond the classroom—fueling curiosity, creating memories, and making sure every student gets to see the world a little differently.
