- Applying for scholarships does not have to be stressful, especially if you prepare before you click “start.” This quick guide will help you stay organized, meet deadlines, and submit a strong application.
- Tip: Students who gather everything before starting the online application finish faster and submit stronger applications.
Important Dates (Mark Your Calendar)
- January 23: MEF Scholarship Application Opens
- March 6: Applications Due by 3:30 p.m. (no exceptions)
- April 7, 8, and 9: Scholarship Interviews for finalists
- May 15: Scholarship Breakfast
Prepare Before You Apply
(This checklist is for your planning only and does not need to be turned in.)
Before starting the online application, gather the following items so you can complete the application in one sitting:
- Your Financial Plan information, ready to copy and paste
- Your official transcript, ready to upload
- A résumé of activities outside the classroom, ready to upload
- Any photos you plan to include, ready to upload
- Your short-answer responses, written and ready to paste
Optional but Helpful:
- If you want to compare the cost of attending Colorado colleges and universities, use the Compare Costs tool Compare Costs Here!
- You may upload a letter of recommendation from someone other than a current teacher or PSOC, such as a coach, employer, mentor, or community member. Submitting one can strengthen your application.
Application Requirements
- Create a profile with general information, high school information, and contact details
- Complete the full application intake, including all required uploads
- Interview requirement: Scholarship finalists must participate in an interview in April
Final Deadline
All applications must be submitted electronically to the Mapleton Education Foundation by Wednesday, March 6, 2026, no later than 3:30 p.m.
Late applications cannot be accepted. Plan ahead and submit early.
