The Mapleton Education Foundation supports students in Mapleton Public Schools, located in Adams County (north metro Denver), Colorado. Mapleton covers 25 square miles and serves suburban, rural, and light industrial communities.
Mapleton Public Schools serves more than 6,500 students in Adams County, and an additional 2,500 students around Colorado through its online partnership school, Colorado Connections Academy. Each student comes from a unique background with his or her own set of talents, interests, circumstances and motivations. In Mapleton, 68 percent of students receive free or reduced lunch and 41 percent are learning English as a second language. Of the Foundation’s post-secondary scholarship winners, over 80 percent are the first generation in their family to attend college.
The Foundation makes post-secondary and opportunity scholarship awards to Mapleton students, as well as program grants to teachers, teacher teams, extra-curricular programs, and co-curricular programs. It also makes investments in District programs, such as fieldwork and experiential learning, literacy and science. Students are the ultimate beneficiaries of all Foundation investments.
