The Make A Difference Fund was created to eliminate barriers to student participation in unique extra-curricular and co-curricular experiences. These experiences nurture students’ abilities and passions; experiences funded through this program have directly impacted student acceptances to the most competitive postsecondary institutions in the country (Brown University, Yale University, Princeton University and more). The fund serves individual students and provides support for student travel expenses, program tuition, and other expenses related to special extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Student applications are evaluated on the quality and completeness of the student’s application, previous funding awarded to a student (students who have never received funding receive priority for awards), financial need and a student’s efforts to raise their own funds. Examples of previously funded applications include:
- Travel assistance for student participation in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program
- Tuition assistance for student participation in the National Young Scholars Program
- Support for participation in the Ivy League Project
